What is a Conservation Review?
The Conservation Reviews provided by Water Wise Now are designed to help large water users understand where they’re wasting water outside and provide actionable reports to help advance their conservation game plan.
Irrigation specialists from Water Wise Now visit a site and prepare a thorough report on current conditions. Sometimes we work with water districts to identify their top water users and approach these customers about district-sponsored reviews.
How is this different than a Water Audit?
The traditional water audit (performed by a licensed irrigation auditor, CLIA) requires a system tune-up prior to evaluation and aims to precisely measure potential savings from increased irrigation system efficiency. There are so many variables affecting how much water a site uses in any given month that these measurements are only valuable as rough estimates.
Our trained irrigation specialists can identify problems and savings opportunities without a formal audit, saving our clients both time and money. We visually inspect irrigation equipment, turn on each valve, look for evidence of broken laterals and sprinklers, and evaluate the current irrigation schedule for appropriateness. Our reports provide clients with valve-by-valve suggestions rated for urgency and impact so they can use cost-benefit analysis to triage their systems.
Where we perform conservation reviews
We are still a small company so are limited to areas near where our staff works. We set our service area based on an expected 1.5 hour range for travel (each way). While we are happy to work with customers outside of this range, we do charge for travel time and that cost can add up for areas outside this range.
